2015-2013 Birth Yr
Players will be in groups of 6 and each group will get 50 minutes per station
Skating Treadmill
Treadmill sessions will include a detailed breakdown of your skating technique and posture. Each player will get time on the skating treadmill and the coach will provide instant feedback of stride mechanics & movement coordination. The treadmill provides a unique learning environment where player feedback is readily available through a combination of verbal instruction and visual information provided by the front-mirror. We understand the importance of being able to add speed with and without the puck and the skating treadmill is a great way to focus on building speed through stride technique and efficiency.
Shooting/Puck Handling
Shooting sessions will allow players to learn proper shooting techniques (wrist shot & snap shot) along with relevant information as to the subtle similarities and differences between the two shots. Players will also learn proper posture, pre-shot handling, and upper/lower body separation, all skills necessary to be an effective shooter. Working on these skills is a great way for players to gain more confidence and develop a stronger ‘feel’ for how to continue developing their shooting mechanics on and off the ice.
Workout/Games
Workout sessions will be fast paced and performed in a group-like setting. Players will progress through a functional exercise routine that incorporates full-body coordination, functional movement skills, and sport-specific strength exercises. Alongside the workouts we will also have some team building exercises and games to have fun in a group setting while continuing to develop physical literacy
**Players MUST be in the age range of this program due to the use of the Skating Treadmill
